Art/HOUSE 2008

Beach Cities Friends and Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles proudly present our annual Art/HOUSE event on May 10, 2008 from 6:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Over 50 beautiful works of art by world renowned artists, live music, food and drink. All to benefit HFH GLA. Free admission.

Housing Center for Excellence Cornerstone Training

HFH GLA's Housing Center for Excellence announces the start of a 14 unit training that will teach construction skills needed on our sites.

The trainings will be held Saturday mornings from 9:00 a.m. to noon and Wednesday nights from 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Training will start on Saturday May 17th and go through Wednesday July 2nd. To receive the certificate of completion for the training, participants must attend at least 11 of the 14 sessions on both Saturdays and Wednesdays.

This session is full but stay tuned for the next offering. Information will be posted when it is scheduled.

HFH GLA Crew Leader Training

HFH GLA's Housing Center for Excellence announces the start of a four week training course for potential Crew Leaders on our construction sites.

This training will be held on Tuesday nights from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. from May 27th to June 20th. The Crew Leader training will focus on understanding Habitat procedures and how to lead teams of volunteers. No skills assessment will be needed, but participants should have basic construction skills and have previous experience on a Habitat site as a volunteer. Participatns are asked to commit to all four training sessions.

Habitat 101

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles will hold a volunteer orientation on Friday May 30, 2008 at 12 p.m. (noon).

The orientation will be held at the Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles offices located at 17700 S. Figueroa Street, Gardena, CA 90248 (cross streets: 182nd and Figueroa).

Annual Fannie Mae Golf Tournament

The 15th Annual Fannie Mae Golf Tournament to benefit Habitat for Humanity will be on August 28th and 29th.

Silent Auction, Golf, Gala and Entertainment will be held in beautiful Dana Point.
