Cause for Celebration – Groundbreakings, Kickoff’s and Dedications
Groundbreaking, Wall Raising, Kickoff’s and Dedications: Nearly every Habitat for Humanity home begins with a Groundbreaking, Kick-off or Wall-raising ceremony which is a symbolic representation of new opportunities and hope.
Dedications: Following the completion of the Habitat for Humanity build, the site is dedicated and presented to the new partner homeowners. The celebration of the completion of the build and the beginning of life in a new home is a very special celebration for funding and community partners, volunteers, staff and the new homeowners.

Power Women Power Tools
Power Women Power Tools (PWPT) is an annual invitation‐only, all‐women build event hosted by Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles and is a part of our Hollywood for Habitat for Humanity program. Women from all walks of life come together during this special build event to build homes for families and individuals in need of decent, sustainable and affordable housing. On Saturday, September 29, 2012, as part of the Lowe’s PWPT, more than 200 women helped build walls in Culver City. Many of the volunteers at PWPT are corporate executives from Fortune 500 companies, faith community leaders and elected officials, production companies, and the music industry, as well as the cast and crew of several TV shows and feature films. Every year the event attracts women who join together to make a difference building homes and leave feeling inspired and empowered. Dawn to Dusk Golf Marathon
Golfers compete in a golf adventure with a humanitarian twist in the Dawn to Dusk (D2D) Golf Marathon. In the first three years, D2D raised nearly $300,000 funding the building of two homes. HFH GLA golfers tee-off at dawn and play as many holes as possible before dark. There is no cost to participate but each player is asked to raise pledges from their own contacts. It is always a great day with an abundance of food, drink, chair massages and prizes. There are prizes for the players that raise the most money, play the most holes, and more. Each player receives a gift bag and is automatically entered in a drawing. Check back to see details for the next D2D Golf Marathon.

Guests enjoy fine food, cocktails and music. Also, many of the participating artists attend, giving guests the rare opportunity to meet some of today’s most exciting artists, all in one fabulous, fun evening!
