Thrivent Builds 2007
|
From the first nail to the last, building a home by partnering with Thrivent Builds and Habitat for Humanity is a profound experience. It’s not just concrete and wood, it’s tears and smiles, born of hard work and faith. And it’s the knowledge that you’ve not only helped change a life, you’ve helped change a family!
None of this is possible without you. We need your help! Even if you can’t swing a hammer, climb a ladder or work on a roof, there’s a lot of work that goes into building a house at every skill level and a lot of “behind the scenes” work to do too.
The Thrivent 2007 Habitat house is under construction!

On May 10 ELCA Bishop Dean Nelson led other Lutheran Ministers in the first day of volunteer construction on the Lopez family home. Bishop Nelson opened the day in devotions after which everyone began moving lumber, cutting wood, and hammering nails. By the end of the day, the first wall had been framed.
Since then, hundreds of volunteers have devoted countless hours of love and labor to the Lopez home. The walls are up, roof on, and what was once an empty space looks like the beginnings of a house. Before we know it Maria, Cynthia, Daniel, Kimberly, and Tianna will be moving in.
We need more volunteers!
