Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles has been an active affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International for more than 30 years. By building and preserving affordable housing through new construction, renovations, and home repairs, Habitat LA is transforming communities throughout Los Angeles County. Through access to affordable loans, housing counseling, down-payment assistance, skilled construction training, financial education, and volunteer opportunities the organization has strengthened families, helped stabilize communities, and fostered economic vitality in the region. On average, the affiliate builds and renovates 100 homes in the Los Angeles region each year, ranking it among the largest affiliates nationwide.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION


Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles (Habitat LA) is seeking a qualified candidate to develop and implement fundraising strategies to secure essential funds from corporate donors and in-kind contributions for affordable housing construction and operations. They will also build strategic partnerships, drive financial growth, and manage relationships with current and potential corporate donors in the greater Los Angeles area. The ideal candidate will have a passion for fundraising, relationship- building, and community engagement, with experience in donor solicitation, proposal writing, event planning, and volunteer management. This position contributes to a team goal of raising approximately $5 million.

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


Donor Cultivation and Stewardship:

  1. Manage a portfolio of at least 125 corporate donors.​
  2. Work with companies to create partnerships that align with Habitat LA’s mission.​
  3. Present Habitat LA’s work, impact, and projects to donors and volunteers.​
  4. Organize and participate in build days, ceremonies, and events to engage stakeholders with Habitat LA’s mission.​
  5. Ensure donors are promptly acknowledged and recognized for their contributions.

Fundraising Strategy and Execution:

  1. Work with leadership to set annual fundraising goals and create strategies to meet them.​
  2. Identify and pursue various funding sources, including in-kind donations, corporate grants, and sponsorships.​
  3. Prepare proposals and ensure compliance with reporting requirements.

Database Management:

  1. Keep donor records and fundraising data up to date in the donor management system.​
  2. Generate reports to track fundraising progress, donor trends, and campaign success.​
  3. Record donor interactions, contributions, and fundraising activities accurately.

Events and Donor Management

  1. Help organize signature events, engage corporate donors and prospects, and provide general event support.

SUMMARY OF JOB QUALIFICATIONS


  • At least 3 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising or a related field, with a proven record of securing corporate gifts, grants, and sponsorships.
  • Strong understanding of affordable housing issues and a passion for the organization’s mission.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, with the ability to effectively present Habitat LA’s mission and impact to diverse audiences.
  • Skilled in building and maintaining relationships with corporate partners, donors, and community members.
  • Proficient in donor database management and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with RENXT preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively with staff, volunteers, donors, and community partners.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a drug test, background check authorization and a driving record check.
  • Must have access to reliable transportation to perform job duties, a valid CA Driver’s License, and meet the state required amount of personal automobile liability insurance.
  • Must have access to internet connection.

COMPENSATION


Pay Range: $26.44 - $31.25​
